Hi welcome to Staffordshire Dog Tails! My name is Deb and with my partner Rob we run a home from home style licenced boarding service for small-medium sized doggies.
We are a bespoke service and cater for dogs that prefer to be home boarded alone and not keen on being mixed. We can home board a maximum of 3 dogs from the same home or family that are happy in each other’s company.

We are a middle-aged couple, that are the homely kind, and both love the company of a fur friend or two.
We love nothing more than to get out in nature, to the local park – 10 minute walks away or the local fields 5 minute away from our home.
I also offer a walk service for up to 4 solo walks per day within the ST1 & ST6 areas.
My passions are animal care, and my hobbies and interests are music, baking and long walks in nature.
Just a few frequently asked questions so I decided to provide a quick Q&A’ s about me..
What made you decide to become a home boarder?
I had been missing my own dog after she had passed away and I was missing going
on a walk with a dog but never wanted to replace her so quickly. I started to take on
dogs over long weekends, and after much heavy debate I decided to leave
employment with the NHS after 19 years of service to take on something I was very
passionate about and felt just right for me.
How long have you been doing home boarding for?
I started in September 2023 when I got my licence through the council. I also completed a canine OFQUAL level 3 qualification, in canine care, welfare and
behaviour through Dog Business School.
What happens during the day when you take care of my pet?
First of all, we arrange a meet and greet where we discuss your dogs needs. Then we can decide if they are suitable for home boarding.
We like to see copies of the vaccine card and confirmation dates of when your dog was last treated for flea, tick and worm treatment.
We can then plan a trial over night stay prior to any longer stays. We have a form for you to complete that asks about the dogs daily routine.
We totally get that all dogs are different, some have 1 walk, some don’t have a walk if they are frail, on medication, not able to walk. Some dogs like to have 3 walks, it all depends on that individual dog. Some dogs have their feed AM&PM, some have one or three feeds a day.
Play might be about managing not getting too over stimulated if you have a very excitable dog. Certain dogs may not show interest in play but could benefit from enrichment toys.
Some doggies like to be stroked all day long, and some prefer to sit away on another sofa. Snoozy time we do endeavour to have dogs sleeping downstairs although certain
dogs prefer to sleep with their owners. We do take this into account and for the right dog we will accommodate this level of care in the V.I.P guest bedroom.
